A nocturnal drive. Such is degree of concentration on the road that, like or not, imaginary characters and scenes appear before one’s eyes. Eyes and windows alike become misty.
Tsunami. The force of nature. Sometimes I try to imagine myself standing before the force of nature. It doesn’t bear thinking about.
Spring in Kundziņsala. I’m not sure whether that’s ground that’s already melted or snow covered with coal dust. 2010
Ueno cherries. It may seem that this is so sentimental. But it turns out that the celebration of blossoming is a completely normal, necessary and holy thing. Folks are united by falling blossom petals and alcohol. 2009
Magpies in the apple orchard. You need to be an observant viewer to spot them. The play between the black and white feathers and the snow covered branches of the apple trees does not lend itself to simple and easy discernment of familiar things. 2011
